MYANMAR HIGHLIGHT TOUR

(15 days / 14 nights)

Yangon – Bago – Golden Rock – Heho – Inle – Yasarkyi (trekking) – Pindaya – Mandalay – Sagaing – Inwa – Amarapura – Bagan – Popa – Salay – Thandwe – Ngapali – Yangon

Day 1: Yangon Arrival

Upon arrival at international airport, welcome by our experience tour Guide holding the placard with your name. And then transfer to hotel for check-in, then sightseeing start to Chaukhtagyi Reclining Buddha Image: 230 ft (70 m) long in the pose of rest, the original image was built in 1907 and Shwedagon Pagoda: world famous glistening gold stupa towering over the city with spearing to height of 326 fees. There are always many Myanmar People praying and making offerings at Shwedagon, and it’s fascinating place to spend time watching the world go by. Overnight at Hotel in Yangon.

Day 2: Yangon - Golden Rock (Kyaikhtiyo) (By Coach) (B, L)

After early breakfast at hotel, drive to Golden Rock, 185 km from Yangon via Bago. On the way, visit to Kyaipun the four Buddha inagesf sittings in back - to – back position. Continue to 55m Long & 16m high reclining Shwethalyaung (a huge reclining Buddha image). After lunch at local restaurant, continues to Golden Rock .Upon arrival at Kin Pun ‘base camp’, a steep and rough 11-km dirt road leads to the upper staging point. From there to “Yathae Hill”, open trucks are used for hilly track up. At the Yathae Hill, one has to trek for about one hour up hill. It can also be reached by Sedan Charis which are easily available. It is balanced on the edge of a cliff near the top of Mt. Kyaikhtiyo and it is one of the most revered Buddhist shrines. On arrival, watch the beauty of a sunset at this important pilgrimage site. Overnight at hotel in Yangon.

Day 3: Golden Rock - Bago - Yangon - Heho Inle Lake (B, L)

After breakfast at hotel, enjoy the sunrise at Golden Rock and return back to Yangon. Before proceed to Yangon, excursion to and ancient capital of Mon Kingdom, Bago (the Hansawaddy Dynasty). Sightseeing includes 376 ft high Shwemawdaw Pagoda (50 ft higher than the great Shwedagon). After lunch at local restaurant, visit Bago market where Myanmar traditional cheroot industry is. Observe the Buddhism ways of living in Bago and environs. Return back to Yangon. On the way, observe the World War Two Cemetery – 27,000 tombstones of allied soldiers who lost their lives in Myanmar during the World War II at Htaukkyant. The cemetery is peaceful and beautifully tended. Arrive Yangon, visit Kyauk Taw Gyi – this sitting Buddha image which is curved out from single marble stone. If time permits, we also visit to “White Elephants Camp” which is just a stone’s throw away from the airport. And proceed to airport to catch the flight to Heho. On arrival in Heho, pick up & transfer to hotel in Inle for check in. Overnight in Inle Lake.

Day 4: Inle Lake (B, L)

After breakfast, start sightseeing to Inle lake located at the 900 meters above sea level, Inle Lake is the second largest natural lake in Myanmar with hazy blue mountains as backdrop. Visit Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda, the most famous pagoda of the Shan State. Ywa-Ma village, gold and silver smiths’ workshop. After lunch, visit Jumping Cat Monastery and floating gardens, local methods of fishing, village life and the famous leg rowers. In the evening, enjoy the sunset while visiting the Inle Lake by boat and overnight.

Day 5: Inle – Pindaya – Yasakyi village (B, L)

After breakfast, transfer to Pindaya and trekking will start about 8 00 to the village inhabited by the hill tribe Danu about 2 hours. Have snack & greentea then continue to Yasakyi about 2 hrs trekking, where Palaung hill tribe reside have Lunch & take rest in the monastery. Visit around village diner & overnight in Yarsakyi villages.

Day 6: Yarsakyi - Pindaya - Heho - Mandalay (B, L)

After early morning breakfast to Mt. Yasakyi about 700 ft above sea level. The spot offers good panoramic view continues to other tour villages and return to Pindaya and flight to Mandalay and overnight at hotel in Mandalay.

Day 7: Mandalay (B, L)

After breakfast at the hotel and then start sightseeing to Mahamuni Buddha Image, Zegyo Market and some of Mandalay’s cottage industries, such as weaving and tapestry making, Burmese candy making, Bamboo fan making near Eindaw Yar Pagoda, Atumahsi Monastery and Shwenandaw Monastery (Golden Palace Monastery), Kuthodaw (Maha Lawkamarazein Pagoda) which is famous as the world largest book of many stone slabs on which is inscribed the whole Buddhist Literature. In the evening, enjoy the panoramic view of the city from Mandalay Hill. Overnight stay at hotel in Mandalay.

Day 8: Mandalay – Ava – Amarapura - Sagaing – Mandalay (B, L)

After breakfast at the hotel, start sightseeing Mandalay, the commercial centre and cultural tourism site, was established in 1857 by King Mindon, Arrive at Tada Oo International airport and direct sightseeing to ancient city of Amarapura. Visit to Mahagundayone Monastery to study the daily life of the monks observing Buddha scriptures, U Bein Wooden Bridge (1.2 Km long) across Taung Tha Man Lake. And then drive to Sagaing and visit Kaung Mu Daw Pagoda which is the copy of Mahaceti Pagoda in Siri Lanka and Sagaing Hill the center of Meditation. Then drive to Mandalay and check in at the hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 9: Mandalay – Bagan (B, L)

After breakfast , transfer to the airport. Depart for Bagan, the ancient city with over 4400 temples. Upon arrival, we will drive to the colorful and the bustling Nyaung Oo local market that gives you a glimpse of the local life as well as the numerous tourist-oriented wares on offer, ranging from t-shirts and woodcarvings to lacquer ware and paintings. The tour extended to the Shwezigon pagoda, one of the four most significant buildings in Bagan. Continue to visit the Htilominlo pagoda, famed for its original fine plaster carvings and glazed sandstone decorations which are remarkably well preserved before the visit to the Ananda Pagoda, one of the finest, largest and best persevered in Old Bagan. During your visit in Bagan, you will also have a chance to see a lacquer ware workshop whose birthplace is in Bagan .Finally, visit the Dhammayangyi pagoda, Bagan’s largest temple. Enjoy sunset from one of the most scenic spots in town and return to the hotel. Stay overnight in Bagan.

Day 10: Bagan - Popa - Salay (B, L)

After breakfast at hotel, begin with a drive south, parallel to the Irrawaddy River, en route to Salay. After one hour we'll make a stop in Chauk which has a colorful morning market to explore. Continue to Salay (30 minutes) an important center of Buddhism in Myanmar with many active monasteries. Salay, While visiting Salay you will learn more about monastic life, several sights including Salay is Yoke Sone Kyaung monastery, one of the oldest wooden halls in the area. Mount Popa has played an important role in Myanmar culture, religion and history since earliest times. The view over the Myingyan Plain from the top of the volcanic peak is impressive (and the climb is optional!). Return back to Bagan and overnight in Bagan.

Day 11: Bagan - Thandwe - Ngapali (B)

After breakfast, transfer to the Heho Airport and flight to Thandwe. Transfer to the beach by shuttle bus. Leisure at beach. Overnight at hotel.

Day 12: Ngapali (B)

Breakfast at hotel. You can visit the nearby fishing villages, where you can find the fishermen begin setting and drawing drift nets before dawn and continue into the late morning, when they load their catches in baskets. Women carry the baskets of fish on foot, and then return with lunch for the men. Overnight at hotel.

Day 13: Ngapali Beach (B)

A whole day free for leisure. Overnight in Ngapali.

Day 14: Ngapali - Thandwe - Yangon (B)

After breakfast at hotel, transfer to the airport by shuttle bus and flight back to Yangon. On the way to the hotel, visit Kabar Aye (the World Peace pagoda) and Maha Pasana (the great cave for Buddhist synod) and check in at the hotel. After lunch shopping at Bogyoke Market (Scott’s Market) of hundreds of shops where you can find local products such as Gems & Jewelry , slippers, cloth, and so on. Evening stroll along the China Town and study the ways of living of Yangon citizens (observe the tradition and modern costume). Overnight at hotel in Yangon.
